Founded in 1856, the 1st Hussars is one of Canada’s oldest and most storied armoured regiments. With an active strength of approximately 120 soldiers, and 70 association members, we proudly serve as part of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, based in London and Sarnia, Ontario.
Today, the 1st Hussars continue to serve as an armoured reconnaissance unit within the Canadian Army Reserve, maintaining their tradition of excellence and readiness. The regiment is deeply rooted in the London and Sarnia communities, participating in ceremonial events, educational outreach, and preserving the proud legacy of those who have served.
